Surrey’s bustling Central City hub has a new hotspot to gather at with friends and family to savour West Coast cuisine, cocktails, wine and craft beer and one-of-a-kind dining experiences with the official opening of Skye Avenue Kitchen & Lounge (190-13450 102 Ave.).
Ideally located in the burgeoning Central City neighbourhood of one of Canada’s fastest-growing, vibrant and diverse cities, Skye Avenue Kitchen & Lounge is open Sundays to Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to midnight. The 250 seat inside and 100 seat outside, 6000 sq. ft. restaurant offers a casually elegant yet expansive space and menus that showcase truly unique fare with West Coast flair on plate and palate alike for daily lunch, dinner, and happy hour service in addition to Sunday Brunch.
The front of house team is led by Vice President Hospitality Development Richard Goodine, who brings a wealth of knowledge from his more than three decades spent in the hospitality industry that have included roles as Chief Operating Officer at Steel Toad Brewing Co., General Manager at the renowned Relais & Chateau property The Post Hotel & Spa in Lake Louise, AB. and Manager at such iconic Vancouver restaurants as The Cannery and Joe Fortes. Goodine also had a hand in curating numerous award-winning wine lists for the Vancouver Playhouse Wine Festival and Wine Spectator.
The kitchen team is anchored by Executive Chef and Italian born-and-raised Valerio Pescetelli, who began his culinary career in London, England at hotspots such as Orso and Gordon Ramsay’s Michelin-Starred Savoy Grill before hopping the pond and overseeing operations for a number of restaurants at Rogers Arena. Prior to joining the Skye family, Pescetelli was the driving force behind beloved local spots like Per Se Social Corner, Aquafarina and The Victor.
Available nightly Pescetelli’s dinner menu features an array of dishes that incorporate the best local ingredients from farms, fields and fishers around BC — including fresh-caught halibut while in season — as well as rotating varieties of fresh-daily hand-made pasta, sushi and sashimi, and more, with the following highlights:
Fresh Vegan ‘Ricotta’ (fresh almond extraction, slow-roasted tomatoes, aged balsamic, artisanal bread);Burrata Salad (herb-marinated eggplant, brioche, red pesto, Peruvian pepper);Wagyu Beef Carpaccio (Snake River Farms, aged Pecorino Toscano, truffle cookies, arugula);Tuna Tataki (bluefin, tomato, pistachio, tortilla, avocado);Pizza (Margherita, Prosciutto & Burrata and Vegetarian Pomodoro varieties);Soy-Glazed Salmon (BC King salmon, red quinoa, mushroom, seasonal vegetables, lemon beurre blanc);Cajun Chicken (Fraser Valley Farm organic breast, market vegetables, Delhi ratatouille, cardamom rice, jus);Lamb Loin (Australian-farmed marinated loin, pistachio crust, Saint Agur blue cheese fondue, Peruvian chimichurri);Arrabiata (hand-made rigatoni and pomodoro, fresh chili, garlic, Grana Padano).Rocher Tart (Belgian chocolate ganache, hazelnut praline, chocolate crumble, raspberry gelato);Orange Olive Oil Cake (lemon whipped ricotta, spiced candied orange).
