Osoyoos Desert Model Railway Museum - Fun for all ages!
I was not expecting to enjoy this as much as I did, but the miniature European world of the The Osoyoos Desert Model Railroad is so charming! I was wowed by the 1900 houses, 30,000+ hand painted people and 45 computer controlled trains travelling through 4000 sq. ft. of miniature mountains and towns. It’s really quite amazing - so amazing that they were the recipient of 2020 Travellers Award from TripAdvisor. This little tourist attraction tucked away in Osoyoos is one of the top 10% of attractions WORLDWIDE on TripAvisor.
Each display is so detailed and whimsical. So much thought must have been put into creating this. It’s cool that they even occasionally dimmed the lights to show us what the miniature world would look like at night time. They even had thunder and lightning to enhance the mood!
In the displays, you’ll see everything from urban to rural life, a snowy ski resort, a Monster Truck rally, a circus and so much more! Be on the lookout for the brothel and nudist beach! Let me know if you find it!
Here’s a look at a small portion of what you’ll see here:
Whether you’re young or old, you’ll find something here that will mesmerize you. Take my word for it, you’ll be immersed in this miniature wonderland, so be prepared to spend a few hours here. They are open year round and worth a visit during your next trip to Osoyoos.
