Breakfast at The Bench Market, Penticton

If you haven’t been to The Bench Market in Penticton, add it to your list. I had a feeling it was going to be a good breakfast even before I had a taste of the food. A sure sign when the place is packed at 9am on a weekday. I later found out they were voted Best Breakfast Spot in the Okanagan!

The first thing I noticed was the friendly laid back atmosphere. Place your order at the counter, pay and grab a seat inside or out on the patio. For the food, they offer all-day-breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch and daily made baked goods - all made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients. Choose from a breakfast Eggwich, bacon and eggs, paninis, avocado toast and more. They also have a market section selling a wide variety of unique artisan retail products. Most of the items they carry are locally and BC made.

For our breakfast, we ordered the Bench Breakfast Plate and the #SundayMorning. My boys had the eggwich and the grilled cheese sandwich from the kids menu.

The Bench Breakfast Plate totally hit the spot. It came with 2 hard boiled BC free-run eggs, Fraser Valley bacon, cheese wedge, cranberry bran bread and fresh fruit. I also added the smoked salmon.

The #SunnyMorning included 2 BC free-run sunny eggs, 2 strips Fraser Valley bacon, grilled tomatoes & multi-grain toast. Can’t go wrong with a classic bacon and eggs breakfast!

I totally understand why The Bench Market is such a popular place. Our food was delicious! Even my son kept raving about how good his eggwich was. Oh, and be sure to try some of their fresh baked goods. Believe me, you’ll thank me later.
