On February 9, Science World was once again transformed into the city's largest cocktail laboratory. Hosting the sold out, annual fundraiser for the third year, the Science of Cocktails event set out to raise money for its Science World Class Field Trip Bursary program. Over 1500 people attended, raising over $276,000 for their program for students from underserved schools in Vancouver and the lower mainland.

The event opened it doors to the public at 8pm and went on until 12am. Some of the city’s most talented bartenders and chefs were on hand to showcase the chemistry, biology and physics behind preparing modern cocktails and cuisine. The event included open bars, over 25 different tables and 12 food-pairing stations.

To take a break from all the cocktails and food, we checked out some of the exhibits throughout the venue. The "Robot Bartender" was pretty cool, where "a few lines of code allow a simple computer to control motors, belts and values, to create an amazing robot cocktail."

The "Smell Station" was set up to "challenge your sense of smell to identify these distinct aromas".
