Nespresso's new Vancouver Boutique.

Nespresso opened its first concept Boutique in BC at the Metropolis at Metrotown this week.

Their launch was this past Tuesday and I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the boutique the day before the doors opened to the public. The new space is contemporary and beautifully designed.

This is the first concept Boutique of its kind in BC.  Designed by Universal Design Studio, the concept aims to 'reflect the brand's deep commitment to sustainability, strengthen its physical presence in Western Canada and continue it's tradition of offering exceptional quality products to coffee lovers across the country'

Customers can get hands on with coffee grounds to learn about different bean flavors and their distinct aromas and learn from the Boutique's Coffee Specialists about their vast range of coffee.

Have you ever wondered where all those used coffee capsules end up? Well, Nepresso uses aluminum for their capsules which is the best material to protect the quality of their coffee. But aluminum is also great because it is fully recyclable. Customers can bring their used capsules to a Nespresso outlet to be recycled. The company then sends them through its own outlet to recycle where coffee grounds are separated from the aluminum capsule. The aluminum is repurposed and the coffee grounds are transformed into compost for use on local farms.

But how likely are all consumers returning the used capsules to a Nespresso outlet for recycling? To overcome this, Nespresso has partnered with Recycle BC to launch the Green Bag Pilot Program. The program currently offers residents of Vancouver, Anmore and Colquitlam the opportunity to easily recycle used capsules in their household recycling bin with a recyclable bag specifically designed by Nespresso for this purpose. Based on the success of this pilot, the goal is to open this service across BC within the year.

Boutique features table-tops made from used coffee grounds, wood that has been 100% sourced from reforestation programs and energy and water reducing system.

To launch its new location, Nespresso Boutique will be hosting a grand opening event from April 27-29th.  The event will include music by a local DJ,  Nespresso coffee infused bites created by Vancouver Chef Juno Kim.....and more.
