Le Bistrot d'Henri
One of the best things about Paris is that around every corner is a new surprise. Some fantastic architecture, a cute cafe, or in this case, a wonderful little restaurant. Le Bistrot d'Henri is a small, intimate hidden gem that we found while wandering down a narrow side street.
We started off with the "Salad de Bistrot d'Henri", green beans, avocado, smoked duck breast, pine nuts, dried tomatoes and parmesan cheese. I kinda thought it was an odd combination, but I pleasantly surprised when I had my first bite. The presentation was as beautiful as it was delicious!
My hubby choose the "Poulet fermier à la crème aux champignons", range chicken in a mushroom cream sauce. This dish was freakin awesome! It was so rich and tasty that I probably ate a third of it. The creamy sauce made the chicken taste amazing. I love how the French use so much butter!
I ordered the "Boeuf Bourguignon", beef stew with mushrooms, carrots, onions, and of course RED WINE. This famous French dish definitely lived up to it's reputation. It was tender, rich and very plentiful. The portion was so big that it was probably enough for two. EVEN I COULDN'T FINISH IT! This made me so sad because I didn't have any room for dessert... and I ALWAYS have room for dessert :(
What topped this meal off was the great atmosphere and amazing service. After a few meals in Paris and becoming a bit disenchanted with the service, Le Bistrot d'Henri was a breath of fresh air. I'm so glad that we walked down this random little street and found this place.
