Laduree

In my opinion, a visit to Paris is not complete without going to a Laduree to have one of their famous macarons. Laduree is one of the oldest patisseries in Paris - it's initial location opened back in 1862. It is still known as one of the best makers of macaron in the world. For foodies and dessert lovers, a visit to a Paris Laduree is like a pilgrimage of sorts. The first time I had a Laduree macaron was back in 2010 when I was gifted a box of 24 from Paris. They were so good that I ate 8 of them in one sitting and wanted more. I knew that one day I would have to visit a Laduree in Paris and taste a fresh macaron on my own.

So on our first day in Paris, shortly after lunch, we made our way to the closest location. The minute I walked in, it was obvious to me what made this place so special. The colours were amazing and you could see the detail that went into these wonderful pastries - they looked almost too good to eat!
